SoCalQuizbowl.org was formed by a group of individuals dedicated to spreading knowledge and information about quizbowl in Southern California. We concentrate exclusively on events of interest to local middle school, high school, and college teams.

Alistair Gray is a third-year student at UC San Diego, and previously played for Homestead High School in Northern California. He now directs UCSD tournaments and coordinates tournaments in the region.

Jason Cheng is a graduate of UC San Diego. He led Arcadia High School (Los Angeles) to a 33rd-place finish at the 2013 High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT) and led UC San Diego to a 7th-place finish at the 2015 Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT) and the 2015 ACF Nationals. Jason is a member of the Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence (PACE) and conducts tournament direction and outreach with the collegiate circuit.

Kady Hsu is a student at UC Berkeley and a member of PACE.  She was the co-president of Rancho Bernardo HS quizbowl from 2017-2019 as well as the co-founder of Bernardo Heights MS quizbowl. She organizes tournament schedules, conducts middle and high school outreach, directs tournaments, and maintains the site. Kady is the recipient of the 2018 Benjamin Cooper Young Ambassador Award for her contributions to the circuit. She has also written for Early Fall Tournament.

Rohan Venkateswaran is a freshman at UC Berkeley and formerly attended Westview High school. As president of his quizbowl club, he has directed many tournaments. Rohan organizes the tournament schedule for the circuit and also conducts outreach to schools around Southern California.

Shahar Schwartz is a freshman at UC Berkeley and formerly attended Westview High School. Shahar is the author of many tournament write-ups. Shahar is extremely happy to have met numerous new friends through quizbowl not only in SoCal but across the nation as well.

Bob Stout is the Academic League and quizbowl coach at Madison High School (San Diego). Bob conducts tournament direction and outreach with the middle school circuit.

Eddie Kim is a member of the Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence (PACE). He has written and edited tournaments for High School Academic Pyramidal Questions (HSAPQ) and the Academic Competition Federation (ACF).
