The National History Bee and Bowl in Southern California is an active and competitive circuit, making it a great environment for schools looking to start new teams. History bowl tournaments are open to all middle and high schools teams as well as individuals, and operate under NHBB rules.
For the 2017 – 2018 school year, we plan to organize three history bowl tournaments. The tournament coordinator for history bowl in California is Niki Peters. Teams interested in hosting or attending a tournament should visit historybowl.com for more information or email her at niki AT historybowl DOT com.
Teams qualify for nationals by finishing with at least a 0.500 or better winning record or by winning at least one playoff match. More qualification details can be found here. Teams that fail to qualify can apply for wildcard bids, in which NHBB will individually consider a team’s ability and may offer that team a spot at Nationals.
